Report Save level 2 4 years ago Speaking of the dog ruining haunts, I once played one where the ring turned out to be a ring of invisibility. Id almost always rather play something else. Left a really bad taste in my mouth and was one of the last times Ive played Betrayal. The haunt was pretty lopsided to begin with, but with the dog it was a total landslide. So theyd find a paint can, drop it 6 spaces away, let the dog pick it up, scoot through the cultists (since he ignores monsters for movement), and drop them in the summoning chamber, technically fulfilling the requirements to win. The problem was the dog can pick updrop items.

I played a game once where I was the traitor: I was trying to summon an elder god.

The rules overall of Betrayal are pretty broken and dont interact logically with each other, especially things like the dog. Following the not-use clause, Id think it would close when he picks it up.
